Questions
What should I check when buying a used car in Kenya?
Cover the exterior and body (paint, panel gaps, rust), the interior and electrics, under the bonnet and underneath for leaks, a road test for engine, gearbox and brakes, and the paperwork — confirm the logbook matches the seller's ID and there's no outstanding loan.
Do I still need a mechanic if I use this checklist?
The checklist helps you spot obvious issues, but a professional pre-purchase inspection is the cheapest insurance there is — especially for hidden mechanical or accident damage.
